  • Who do you use for monitoring?
    At Protek Security we pride ourselves in using Local Monitoring in Ottawa through our partner, Lanvac.
  • We currently have an alarm system and would like to switch providers, is this possible?
    Yes, Protek Security can come in and use your current security system without a problem.
  • We currently do not have a home phone line, does this cause any issues with our alarm system?
    Protek Security offers multiple different options to our customers who have gone wireless with their home phone services.
  • Do pets cause problems with motion detectors on my alarm system?
    Protek Security offers pet-friendly detectors for customers with pets that will not cause issues with the alarm system's motion detectors.
  • What happens if my alarm goes off?
    With Protek Security, you will be protected when the alarm goes off as it will send a signal to the monitoring station saying there is an alarm in your residence, they will then, depending on the type of alarm, contact your Emergency List.
  • Do I have a warranty with my contract for replacements if anything should happen?
    We offer a LIFETIME WARRANTY on all parts and labour to our valued customers!
  • Will I be protected during a power outage?
    Yes, every system provided by Protek comes with a back-up battery that will keep your system powered for several hours. In the event your battery does get low, a signal will be sent to our monitoring station and they will notify you.
